HSA Meeting

- Mrs Powers led the meeting in a opening prayer.

- Mrs Powers thanked Mr. DePaulo for working so hard over the Summer to make the school look so nice. 

- Mrs Powers introduced the teachers/faculty.

- Mrs Powers reviewed the student handbook.

- Mrs Powers discussed explained how the evening should be conducted in the classrooms with the teachers. The teachers will give a brief over view of what is expected thru the school year and that it is not a night to personally meet with the teachers.

- Maureen Hickey discussed the following:

A) New family mentor program. Will try to assign established families to new families to help them get to know the school.

B) Oktoberfest - first fundraiser of the year to take place Friday October 19th and 6:30 PM at the school.

C) Many thanks to Mary Currlin who has done an excellent job marketing the school and getting the school ready for

                  Open House on Friday September 28th.

D) HSA web-site and e-mail address. Families and even faculty can in touch with the HSA via e-mail with any concerns or questions. The e-mail address is hsasts@optonline.net

E) Presidential Awards Program - parents and students can earn points towards presidential awards for volunteering.

- Regina Molinelli - Introduced all the new families and discussed the

STS Open House on September 28th. 8th grade students and selected parents will be tour guides. Students will speak at masses in their uniform regarding the school and Open House. Refreshments will be served along with the private tours.

- Jackie Dyer - Explained the church subsidy of $55,000 that must be paid back to the church by the end of the school year and is one of the main reasons why there are fundraisers.

- Mrs Powers dismissed everyone to their classrooms.
