Enrichment Programs

Early Morning Drop Off Program, starting at 7:00 a.m.,  for grades 1 through 8, which includes a light breakfast.   
For the 2012/2013 school year, Pre-AK will begin at 8:15 and will be eligible for early drop off and after school care if needed.
Accelerated Math - Grades 7 and 8 have the opportunity to better prepare for taking the Integrated Algebra Regents.

Phys Ed program offers President's Fitness program
Health class for grades 4-8

These programs provide students in grades 3-8 with the opportunity to explore further areas of particular interest.
 
Mad Science Crazy Chemworks: Students in 2 sessions, K-2 and grades 3-8, learn about labs, pH, atoms and experiment with dry ice, glow in the dark items and slime.
 
Mad Science NASA Future Space Explorers: Students in 2 sessions, K-2 and grades 3-8, explore the solar system, create a lunar eclipse, study stars, meteors, rocket science, space travel and space technology.
 
Mad Science Rockets and Gliders: Students in grades 3-8 build their own gliders, stunt planes and 4 different air pressure rockets to launch and study.

Clubs

Chess Clubs: Grades 2-5 and 6-8 meet from 2:45 - 3:45 on alternate Fridays. This program is led by a chess master who has competed and prepared other children for competitive play. All skill levels welcomed.
 
Drama Clubs: Grades 5-8 produce and act in a Spring play for the STS community.
 
Junior Choir: Provides musical leadership at 9 a.m. Mass from mid-October to Easter Sunday. Grades 3-8 welcome. Rehearsals are Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. (Attendance at one rehearsal per week is expected). Basic requirements include the ability to sing in tune, responsible attendance and a love of singing. There are no auditions. First rehearsals will be held week of Sept. 8.

Extra Curricular Activities

St. Theresa School offers several programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of the students and parents.
 
After School Care/Homework Group: Supervised child care available daily from dismissal until 6pm. Students Pre-K – 8th are encouraged to complete their homework assignments and then participate in group games, outdoor play (weather permitting) or computer activities.
 
Community Service: All Grades can participate year round in hands-on activities for the Briarcliff/Ossining community.

Private Tutorials: Individual teachers with specific subject matter expertise are available for individualized tutorials (Math, Reading and Language Arts) to assist children who may require more support or to prepare for standardized tests.

Special Programs

Piano Lessons: Students can enroll in private lessons. Available on a limited basis

Scouting:
Grades K-8 Boy and Girl Scouts inluding Daisies, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub or Boy Scouts.

Dare Program: Grade 5 participate with local police to learn the dangers of drinking and drugs.
 
Fireman Appreciation Day: Students meet local firemen, learn about fire safety and explore fire trucks.
 
Science Fair: Grades 6-8 create interactive science displays.
 
Talent Show: Students show off their various talents in the annual show.

Lunch Program

Forgotten lunches maybe brought to the school Office. If a student forgets lunch money, they may borrow money from the lunch program. Prompt repayment is necessary to ensure that funds are always available. Students who bring their own lunch must bring pre-prepared meals. The lunch staff cannot heat up or microwave student meals.
